Priorities!

We had a customer come into the store today to buy his third and fourth pair of Z-CoiL's. He had already owned a pair of Z-Duty's and a pair of High Desert Hikers. Today, he purchased a second pair of Z-Duty's so he would be able to swap off between shoes and also a pair of SideWinder Sandals.

So you understand how important his Z-CoiL's are in his life, when asked how they were working out for him, his reply was: "If there was a fire at my house, the first thing I would do would be to grab my Z-CoiL's and then my guitar! The rest can burn...!" Now, he definitely has his priorities straight!

Adjustments to the footwear

We had a first time customer in the store today at the same time that we had another loyal customer who had come in for an adjustment. I was asked if you had to come in regularly for adjustments.

What we find is that many people never need to have their footwear adjusted after their purchase. On the other hand, we do have people who wear the shoes for awhile and realize that they have some pressure in some area and it is making them uncomfortable. We will always take care of those issues. We also have people who come into the store with very severe injuries or very swollen feet. We adjust the shoes to make them comfortable, but after a period of time in the shoes, their injury heals or their swelling goes down, and the shoes no longer are fitted appropriately. Again, feel free to stop by and we will make sure that we take care of those issues and get the footwear feeling comfortable again.

There is no charge for those types of adjustments because we want satisfied customers who will help spread the word about the product and service we provide!

It takes time for a quality fit!

As most of you are aware, Z-CoiL's are not typical footwear. There are many adjustments we can make to ensure that you feel very comfortable in the footwear. Because of this, a first time fitting can take anywhere from 45 min to 2 hours, sometimes more!

Today was a very busy day in the store. Of course, the busiest time was when one of us took a lunch break and 7 people showed up for shows, plus brought their families who wanted to try on footwear! Handling that many people with only one staff person is difficult, and we try our best to ensure we are servicing everyone as quickly as possible while still giving them the attention they need and deserve.

So, we really appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to ensure that you are fit with the appropriate footwear and they are adjusted correctly!

She could not walk for a long distance...

We had a customer come into the store today who had undergone hip surgery. Since the surgery, she could not walk very far at all without having to rest because of the pain. She was hoping the shoes would help her out.

Well, although my store is not very big, when you are trying on Z-CoiL's, you can tend to walk and walk and walk in circles in the store, which she did for over 35 minutes! Now, at a normal slow walking pace, this would equate to close to a mile... I asked her how her hip was doing, and she said that it did not hurt as much as usual, but she was not sure that she could walk very far even in these shoes. When I pointed out how long she had been walking and the distance, she was totally amazed!

Of course, she wore them out of the store, and I have a feeling that she will be back in for another pair...

One heel feels softer?

We have had a few people who come in and try on the shoes tell us that one coil feels like it compresses more than the other. When we talk to the person more, we usually find one of ytwo things: either they have a leg length discrepancy or they have had an injury to one side (either foot, leg, knee or hip). With an injury, they have been favoring one side for a long time and therefore they hit heavier on the opposite side, causing the spring to compress more. In either case, we can many times adjust for this and get the shoes feeling like a matched pair. Many times though with an injury, as the injury heals the person will stop favoring their damaged side and will get back to walking normal.

Menagerie of people!

We had a real mix of people in the store today! It ranged anywhere from a doctor in occupational medicine, working trying to get people back to work, an artist, a retiree and a teacher in a prison! The interesting part is that they all relate to each other and the situation that they are going through... We all wonder about the pain we go through, but spend one day in my store, and you will see how much you have to be thankful for! We see people who have been in pain for three or more years who have some instant relief from that burden they are carrying in just 30 minutes in our store! Talk about making you feel good... Just to know that you have improved someone's life is tremendous.

We send out cards to everyone who purchases a pair of shoes from us about 4-6 weeks after they have owned the shoes. This gives them some time to get used to them and hopefully realize some benefit from the footwear. We also pride ourselves on service, taking the shoes off and putting the shoes on a potential customer. I was asked today if I destroy all cards that have negative feedback, since all of the testimonials you see are positive. The fact of the matter is that we treat the feedback cards very seriously, and follow up with any comment that comes back negative. We want people to be comfortable in our footwear and want to make sure that if there is an issue, we get it resolved as soon as possible. If you have purchased a pair of footwear from us, even if it is beyond our return policy, please contact us and we will work with you to make sure that we have a quality fit and you are satisfied.

Children in Z-CoiL's

From a company standpoint, Z-CoiL's are not intended for use by children. We have made a couple of exceptions in cases where they are medically necessary. We have a couple of teenagers in the footwear who have muscular dystrophy. What we found was that because of the rocker sole, they have less of a chance to drag the tip of the shoe, reducing stumbling as they walk. Also, the shock reduction aids in the reduction of their foot and leg pain, whcih is often associated with this condition. Of course, they must be responsible enough to understand that there are tripping hazards that they have to be aware of.

Good news on the CloudWalker Velcro!

Z-CoiL Corporate has made a decision to lower the price by $10 to put it in line with the other CloudWalkers! It is now priced at $199.95 rather than $209.95.

We have a very limited number of Tan Sandals in stock today! Unfortunately, I don't have a picture, but if you can picure the black SideWinder Sandal in a light tan with a brown orthotic, then that's it! I just received a couple of each women's sizes but more are on the way!
