Testimonial page

In case you are wondering, we send a feedback card out to every person we sell shoes to about 4-6 weeks after they have owned the shoes. This gives you a chance to experience the shoes and see what impact they will have. The card also asks for you to rate our service and tell us how we or the shoes can be improved.

The comments that are on the testimonial page are all taken from these cards, which are in a book in our store. So, feel free to come in and browse through the book a your leisure!

We're not miracle workers!

Although many of our customers who have worn the shoe and have had a life changing experience with the results they provided may disagree! We had a customer buy a pair of shoes two days ago and returned them today. He said that they did not make his heel pain go totally away while wearing the shoes for those 2 days! When asked if it felt any better at all, he said it was less painful during his two 12 hour shifts and his walk at the mall, but his heels still hurt. Even though we explained that we could make some adjustments to the shoes that might make it more comfortable and that he should try it for more than just two days, he refused. His next step is surgery...

As the title said, we are not miracle workers. In his case, his plantar ligament was damaged over time being on his feet on concrete floors, and has gotten worse as he continued to do the 12 hour shifts. On the flip side, it will take a bit of time to heal. Pain in the heel can be very overwhelming and as many of our customers have told us, can rule your life... can I walk through all the stores I need to today, where can I stop to rest and for how long, will I be able to go to the special school event tonight or will the pain be too unbearable...

We do offer a 7 day test drive for our footwear, allowing people to wear them in their normal life to see what the impact is. That does not mean that the pain will be totally gone in 7 days, but it will give you a chance to see if they will work for you. The testimonials on our page is proof that they do work!

Another pair of Z-CoiL's to be auctioned off!

The Loma Prieta Educational Fund will be holding their annual Gala, One Enchanted Evening, on Saturday October 2 starting at 4:00 PM. Festivities include wine tasting of local Santa Cruz Mountain wines and hors d'oeuvres while you browse and bid on silent auction items, including a pair of Z-CoiL Footwear! The setting is an incredible convention area, Mason du Lac, located in the Santa Cruz Mountains. There will also be dinner, a live auction and dancing under the stars!

Last year, the footwear were "stolen" at an incredibly low price, but I'm not sure that will happen this year! More people are aware of the great benefits, so I think we will see a little higher price!

Visit www.lpef.org for more information and to purchase your tickets to this wonderful event and support education in the community.

Half sizes

One question we get all the time is if Z-CoiL's come in half sizes. The answer is a qualified no... They don't specifically come in half-sizes, but we have various ways to make a shoe fit snugger using pads and various adjustments in order to ensure a quality fit. Also, every shoe manufacturer sizes differently and if you wear a size 8.5 in a Nike, you might fit into an 8 Z-CoiL.

So, come on in and let us do whatever is necessary to make you comfortable in your Z-CoiL's!

Happy Anniversary to us!

Believe it or not, we have now been open for one full year... and what a year it has been! We have seen people with many different ailments come in the store, from heel pain to back pain. We have had people cry in the store because they finally found something that worked. We have been hugged by many people for providing them some relief and making their lives pain free. We have met so many people in so many walks of life and have developed some lasting relationships as each person becomes part of our Z-CoiL Family.

People have canceled surgeries, stopped their daily pain medication, discontinued cortisone and cartilage injections and stopped having to walk on their toes because the pain was so bad. We've seen people come in the store with pain and walk out with little or no pain and better posture. It has been truly unbelievable to say the least!

To go home at the end of the day and know that we have put a smile on someone's face, changed their whole demeanor and drastically impacted their daily lives makes this profession one that can't be beat!

What a truly remarkable year... Hope yours was as rewarding!

Priorities!

We had a customer come into the store today to buy his third and fourth pair of Z-CoiL's. He had already owned a pair of Z-Duty's and a pair of High Desert Hikers. Today, he purchased a second pair of Z-Duty's so he would be able to swap off between shoes and also a pair of SideWinder Sandals.

So you understand how important his Z-CoiL's are in his life, when asked how they were working out for him, his reply was: "If there was a fire at my house, the first thing I would do would be to grab my Z-CoiL's and then my guitar! The rest can burn...!" Now, he definitely has his priorities straight!

Adjustments to the footwear

We had a first time customer in the store today at the same time that we had another loyal customer who had come in for an adjustment. I was asked if you had to come in regularly for adjustments.

What we find is that many people never need to have their footwear adjusted after their purchase. On the other hand, we do have people who wear the shoes for awhile and realize that they have some pressure in some area and it is making them uncomfortable. We will always take care of those issues. We also have people who come into the store with very severe injuries or very swollen feet. We adjust the shoes to make them comfortable, but after a period of time in the shoes, their injury heals or their swelling goes down, and the shoes no longer are fitted appropriately. Again, feel free to stop by and we will make sure that we take care of those issues and get the footwear feeling comfortable again.

There is no charge for those types of adjustments because we want satisfied customers who will help spread the word about the product and service we provide!

It takes time for a quality fit!

As most of you are aware, Z-CoiL's are not typical footwear. There are many adjustments we can make to ensure that you feel very comfortable in the footwear. Because of this, a first time fitting can take anywhere from 45 min to 2 hours, sometimes more!

Today was a very busy day in the store. Of course, the busiest time was when one of us took a lunch break and 7 people showed up for shows, plus brought their families who wanted to try on footwear! Handling that many people with only one staff person is difficult, and we try our best to ensure we are servicing everyone as quickly as possible while still giving them the attention they need and deserve.

So, we really appreciate your understanding and patience as we work to ensure that you are fit with the appropriate footwear and they are adjusted correctly!

She could not walk for a long distance...

We had a customer come into the store today who had undergone hip surgery. Since the surgery, she could not walk very far at all without having to rest because of the pain. She was hoping the shoes would help her out.

Well, although my store is not very big, when you are trying on Z-CoiL's, you can tend to walk and walk and walk in circles in the store, which she did for over 35 minutes! Now, at a normal slow walking pace, this would equate to close to a mile... I asked her how her hip was doing, and she said that it did not hurt as much as usual, but she was not sure that she could walk very far even in these shoes. When I pointed out how long she had been walking and the distance, she was totally amazed!

Of course, she wore them out of the store, and I have a feeling that she will be back in for another pair...

One heel feels softer?

We have had a few people who come in and try on the shoes tell us that one coil feels like it compresses more than the other. When we talk to the person more, we usually find one of ytwo things: either they have a leg length discrepancy or they have had an injury to one side (either foot, leg, knee or hip). With an injury, they have been favoring one side for a long time and therefore they hit heavier on the opposite side, causing the spring to compress more. In either case, we can many times adjust for this and get the shoes feeling like a matched pair. Many times though with an injury, as the injury heals the person will stop favoring their damaged side and will get back to walking normal.
